Overview
Computer Vision is one of the most transformative fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI), enabling machines to perceive, interpret, and understand visual information from images and videos. It is a core technology behind autonomous robots, smart surveillance, industrial automation, medical imaging, intelligent transportation systems, and many modern AI-powered applications.
This intensive workshop provides participants with a practical introduction to Computer Vision using Python. Participants will explore both classical computer vision techniques and modern deep learning-based object detection, gaining an understanding of how computer vision technologies have evolved over time.
The workshop begins with image processing fundamentals and the use of OpenCV for common computer vision tasks. Participants will then learn the Haar Cascade algorithm for real-time face and object detection, followed by an introduction to the state-of-the-art YOLO (You Only Look Once) object detection framework, which is widely adopted in industry for high-speed and high-accuracy AI vision applications.
Through hands-on exercises and live demonstrations, participants will build intelligent vision systems capable of detecting faces, objects, and real-world scenes from images and live video streams (webcam).
This workshop also serves as an excellent foundation for participants who plan to continue with the Vision AI Robotics with Arduino workshop, where AI Computer Vision will be integrated with embedded systems to develop intelligent robotic applications.
